He was famous to millions as the host of popular BBC game show Blankety Blank.  And now, almost two decades after his death, Les Dawson’s beautiful £1 million property in the North West of England has gone up for sale - along with all its contents.

Dawson’s beautiful home in Lytham is to be sold to a former nightclub owner, but not before the contents have been cleared.  If you want to buy a little piece of history, keep reading to find out how.

£1 million home sold nearly 20 years after Dawson’s death

Dawson’s home has been untouched since the likeable Northern comedian died in 1993.  The property and its contents are now being sold by trustees acting for the TV star’s estate now his widow Tracy and daughter Charlotte have moved out.

The Daily Mail reports that ‘His giant personality was very much in evidence throughout the family home in the Lancashire seaside resort, filled with bright colours and items like his baby grand piano sitting proudly in the living room and his study exactly as he left it.’

Property’s contents also for sale

As well as the £1 million home, the contents of Dawson’s home are all for sale.  Ornaments are priced from £7.50 but also include more expensive items such as artwork, mirrors and even Dawson’s bed.

His daughter Charlotte said: “It is a wrench to part with all of this but we are sure it will go to good homes.”

A local furniture store is looking after the sale of the property’s contents.  A spokesman for Blackpool’s Febland Warehouse said: “Les’s big house has been sold and we have been entrusted with the sale of the beloved contents.

“The main items are mainly Italian baroque. We are sure that everyone would like a little piece of Les.”

Mr Dawson died tragically in 1993 during a routine check-up at a Manchester hospital.  Aged just 62, he collapsed after a heart attack when his daughter was a just baby.
