The Brazilian property market is one of the worldââ¬â¢s hotspots. With economic growth in the country at 6.9 per cent in 2010 there are lots of reasons to be positive about buying property in Brazil.
However, over the next year or two there are other reasons why the focus may turn to the country and its property. We look at two such reasons.
Hollywood blockbuster set in Brazil
Millions of cinemagoers are set to see Brazilââ¬â¢s true beauty over the next few months thanks to the country featuring in a new Hollywood blockbuster.
The fourth instalment of the successful Twilight series, Breaking Dawn: Part 1, has been released in the last week. In it, the two main characters, Bella and Edward, are married and spend their honeymoon in Mamangua Bay in Brazil.
The characters, played by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, spend time in a stunning 11,000 square foot beachfront property designed by renowned architect Thiago Bernandes.
With the location looking amazing in the movie, itââ¬â¢s hard not to see the huge box office smash not having a major impact on the tourist and property industry in Brazil.
Worldââ¬â¢s two biggest sporting events heading to Brazil
The focus of the worldââ¬â¢s sports fans is also set to be on Brazil over the next five years as the two biggest events in the sporting calendar land in the country.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held in 12 cities across the country with the final set to be hosted by the legendary Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Then, just two years later, London will hand the Olympic Games baton to Rio de Janeiro as it hosts the Games of the XXXI Olympiad.
Both events require significant infrastructure improvements and will bring millions of tourists into Brazil. It is these factors which many believe will help the prices of property in Brazil continue to rise over the next few years.
