Houses for sale in Jamaica will soon be given a helping hand from the country’s award-winning tourism industry.

The country will be honoured at the World Travel Awards in October, it was announced this week. The awards, which are described as the “Oscars of the travel industry”, will acknowledge Jamaica’s success during 2011. The number of visitors this year is expected to top last year, when the country reported a 5 per cent rise in tourists.

The ceremony will take place on 7th October and give out awards in categories ranging from “Caribbean’s Leading Destination” to “Caribbean’s Leading Hotel”. Jamaica will also have its own award category, “Jamaica’s Leading Resort”, with five separate tourism hotspots competing against each other.

“Unrivalled tourism product”

“In the midst of the global economic challenges, Jamaica’s growth in 2010 is remarkable. We are fortunate to have an unrivalled tourism product offering diverse vacation experiences to the most discerning traveller and this is complimented by a high touch quality service which makes our visitors want to return,” John Lynch, the Chairman of the Jamaica Tourist Board, told Travel Daily News.

As the country goes from strength to strength in both tourist and travel industries, houses for sale in Jamaica will benefit from the Caribbean’s increasing popularity.
