Asteco, the largest property services company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has appointed a new head of its investment agency for the Middle East region.

Simon Gray is from the UK originally, but also brings management experience from positions in the Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong property markets.

His role as head of investment will involve the management of assets for VIP clients in all property sectors including residential sales, offering analysis and legal advice and handling negotiations.

Andrew Chambers, Asteco managing director, told AME Info that Mr Gray would be a particularly "valuable addition" to the company given "the announcement of the Dubai property law".

"His role will add new focus to Asteco's investment business, not only expanding the Asteco brand regionally but in international markets as well," he added.

Between 1992 and 2001 Mr Gray was managing director of FPDSavills in Thailand, where he had responsibility for around 1.25 million square metres of property.

Asteco was founded in Dubai in 1985 and offers feasibility studies and valuations as well as strategic consultancy services.
