Just a ten minute drive from the main tourist resort town of Corralejo, is the small pretty village of Lajares.

The main attraction for tourists has to be the Saturday morning market where local artisans show their products accompanied by live music. Many coach trips use this as a stop off point for refreshments and the chance to buy some local canarian handicrafts.

The village has some great cafes, bars and bakeries serving delicious cakes and pastries, a supermarket that is open 6 days a week. The village has its own pharmacy and is a known as a stopping off point for surfers taking advantage of the routes to El Cotillo and Majanicho.
