Inside the fridge: Simply use a solution of water and baking soda in order to avoid scratching the surface of the fridge.

Outside surfaces: In order to prevent discolouration, wipe up any spills straight away with a dry cloth. Before cleaning cooking surfaces, allow them to cool down first. Our advice would be to avoid using abrasive cleaners.

Inside the oven: Simply use oven cleaner, but do not use such on a self-cleaning or continuous cleaning oven as you risk damaging the surface.

Laminated surfaces: In order to protect the surfaces from hot pans, use an insulated pad or trivet. Also, always use a cutting board. Simply clean with non-abrasive, all-purpose cleaner and wipe up. Avoid using scrapers or abrasive pads and try a soft (vegetable) brush to clean textured countertops.

Solid surfaces: If the surface is matte, you can simply use a non-abrasive or abrasive all-purpose cleaner. If the surface is satin or high-gloss, go for the non-abrasive all-purpose cleaner. To protect the surface, use trivets or cutting boards.

In order to remove smudges, fingerprints or other soils, simply use such detergent that cleans finished wood.

Use long-handled toilet brush and toilet bowl cleaner to clean rim holes and the trap. To clean the exterior of the toilet and the toilet seat, you can simply use a disinfectant cleaner or a non-abrasive, all-purpose cleaner. Then rinse and dry hinge areas.

Sink/ Tub/ Shower

Mold and Mildew Prevention: When showering, fastendoftenancycleaning.co.uk advise you to use the fan or open a window. After bathing, make sure to wipe down the tub walls using a sponge. Allow shower doors and curtains to air dry by keeping them open after use.

Tub, Sink and Tile: In order to prevent build-up, make sure to rinse the tub and sink after use. Clean on a regular basis with a non-abrasive, all-purpose cleaner, liquid cleaner or simply tub/sink/tile cleaner and then rinse. Do not use powdered abrasive cleaners because they can scratch the surface.

Grout: Use a solution ¾ cup of liquid bleach to 1 gallon of water to clean the grout. You can also use a mildew stain remover, but make sure to apply it carefully with a soft-bristled brush. Then rinse thoroughly.

How to remove

Rust: Avoid using cleaners with bleach and use a rust remover for such stains.

Mildew: To remove stains, simply use cleaners with bleach or liquid household bleach.

Soap film build up and stubborn stains: Allow disinfectant cleaner to penetrate thoroughly and then rub.

Woodwork: Dust the surface with a dusting product. Remove stains and add shine to surfaces with polish, cleaner-polish or furniture cleaner applied with a soft cloth.

Flooring: Make a solution of a non-abrasive, all-purpose cleaner with warm water to clean the flooring. Check the label if the product requires rinsing or not. What is more, a floor cleaner with polish can help fill in scratches.

Carpet: Make sure you vacuum regularly in order to remove grime and allergens, and try to treat spills straight away with a cleaning product.
