Cordoba is just under an hour; Malaga airport and Granada are under 1.5 hours by car and Cadiz and Jerez are about 2.5 hours, easy driving on well-maintained motorways. Marinaleda is one of the "white " villages of Andalucia and it has an interesting political history. The local people are friendly, not intrusive but willing to help if needed. There are two small supermarkets for basics, a pharmacy, an ironmonger and two bakeries. Several cafe bars and three restaurants. There are bigger supermarkets and other shops in nearby small towns.
