Property Details

Famed for their stunning natural beaches and welcoming atmosphere, Spain is quite simply one of the most desirable places to live across Europe. On offer here is a chance to make a smart investment into this magnificent part of the world with this fantastic property.

A superbly presented rustic property that sit on the edge of a cliff with views down the Los Guajares valley to the Mediterranean coast and onward to Morocco.

Cortijo de Tajos is situated in a spectacular position in the unsurpassed beauty of the Los Guajares Mountains in southern Spain.

At an altitude of just under 800 meters, the mountains sore above either side of the house to altitudes of 1300 with the easily accessible summits offering 360-degree view of the Sierra Nevada mountains and the southern coast line..

To the south, on a clear day the sparkling blue Mediterranean Sea can be easily seen flowing towards the shores of Morocco.

The pine forests protect the baren rocks from erosion and provide a wonderful, habitat for the flora and fauna of the area which never ceases to me amazing at all seasons of the year but especially in spring, when the Rio de La Toba and early rains bring the spring flowers to life.

Wild Boar roam in secret and silence with their young; and what a pleasure it is to see a family strolling along the road at midnight i the moonlight. Genet Cat patrol the property and large ones too just like in Africa. Pine Martens clamber across the irrigation pipes for water and the foxes play in the moonlight on a full moon.

The ibex graze in the garden and Red Dear can be seen at higher altitudes. The bird life is wonderful and there is nothing like the sight of the Vulture migration in the autumn as they move in flocks of hundreds, high in the sky on the way back to Africa.

The nearest village is Guajar Alto. This is a 45 stroll or ten-minute drive in the car. The track is well maintained; does not need a 4 x 4 but a high clearance vehicle would be sensible. The road is maintained by the forestry department each year and when necessary.

From the village is a Tarmac Road down to Motril, Salobrena and the coast. You can tack the unmade road that goes past the house to Granada about one hour away to the new airport and it runs through a pine forest of exquisite beauty with a back drop of the Sierra Nevada to guide you.

ABOUT THE AREA

Torremolinos is a Mediterranean resort town on southern Spain's Costa del Sol, known for its sandy beaches such as El Bajondillo and La Carihuela. Nightlife, dining and shopping are centered on Calle San Miguel. Away from the beachfront and its high-rise hotels are several golf courses and amusement parks, as well as pockets of traditional Andalusian culture such as the village of El Calvario.

The seaside resort of Torremolinos is one of the best-known resorts in southern Spain, and although it hasn't always had the best image, thankfully in the last few years it has outgrown its tacky image and evolved into a mature and exciting resort. Situated just 7 kilometres from the city of Malaga and its international airport, it neighbours the attractive resort of Benalmadena.
