The popular coastal resort of Caleta de Fuste is known to the locals as Castillo because of the 18th century fort that can be seen by the harbour. Over the years the town has become known by other names, so if you hear it being called Caleta de Fuste, Caleta, El Castillo and most recently Costa Caleta, be aware it is the same place!

Caleta is ideally situated just a 10 minute drive from the capital, Puerto del Rosario, and 10 minutes from the Islands airport.

The resort with its many hotels and apartments has all the services and attractions that you would expect. Beach's and a series of lagoons have been built which have bars and restaurants on the small islands. The harbour and marina is a haven for small craft and provides tourists and locals alike with deep-sea fishing, boat trips, diving, windsurfing, etc.

There are two excellent 18 hole golf courses both offering driving ranges, putting greens, pro shops and of course a 19th hole, one being Fuerteventura Golf and the other Salinas Golf .

Close by is The Atlantico Centre which houses a cinema, bowling alley, shops, restaurants, a large Euro Spar supermarket and free parking.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants which provide a varied choice of food and nightlife with many of the hotels also providing free entertainment the Casino in Fuerteventura can be found in the Elba Carlota Hotel.
