About the Area:

Graffignano is an italian town of 2,211 inhabitants in the province of Viterbo. it is about 26 km from the capital.

The territory of the municipality of Graffignano is mostly located on a plateau overlooking the valley of the river Tiber at a height of between 60 and 400 meters above sea level in an area rich in uncontaminated woods, in which abound flora and fauna.

The original ancient village is spread over the top of a small cliff and includes the Castello Baglioni and the so-called Di Dentro. This ancient complex corresponds to the typical pattern of italian medieval towns that normally stood around a castle.

Typical production is olive oil, among the most precious and little known, given the essential family production; oil is available in the many mills that serve the population during the months of harvest, which start from November to January.

The town is located in a strategic position in central italy, only 100 km from Rome and 150 km from Florence, both easily accessible by motorway and train. At about 20 km is the city of Viterbo, 20 km is Orvieto, 20 km Lake Bolsena and about 30 km Todi.

Nearby places of interest include Montefiascone, Bagnoreggio and Saturnia Hot Springs.
