The area

This architecturally excellent house is situated in a superb rural region outside of the city of Thessaloniki. It's most beautiful characteristic is the location with the excellent views. Situated on top of a hill, the view from the house reaches far till the sea and across to mount Olympus. The view is towards the sunset, which in Greece can be enjoyed most days of the year. The area benefits from quiet rural life as the house is outside of the village Monopigado.

Monopigado is 30 minutes away from the airport of Thessaloniki (Macedonia airport) and 35 minutes from Thessaloniki (40 km from the city centre). This is an ideal distance for whoever would like to be close to the city, but to also enjoy a lifestyle in the countryside. En route towards Thessaloniki, Monopigado is 15 minutes away from the Monastery of St John the Theologian, which is close to the village Souroti and is a pilgrimage for many people visiting the monastery where St Paisios spent the last years of his life.

Monopigado and the villages around this area are independent with regards to markets, schools, cafes, banks etc. En route towards Thessaloniki, there are big shopping and retail complexes and Thessaloniki's most popular shopping centre and adventure park. Taking the opposite direction from Monopigado, the road leads to Halkidiki, which is a famous summer holiday tourist destination, with picturesque seaside villages, holiday resorts, and amazing beaches. En route to the seaside villages, is the village of Petralona and Petralona prehistoric Cave, just 10 minutes away. The first seaside villages and resorts of Halkidiki, such as Triglia, are 20 minutes away, placing this house on an excellent spot both for winter and for summer life in Greece.
