Just a few mins walk from the property and all along the seafront promenade is a variety of eateries, tavernas, bars and restaurants all with spectacular sea views. A short drive away is a wider range of excellent restaurants with spectacular sea, mountain and coastal views. St. George South is down towards the beach from the main road and the promenade provides a scenic walk from the Hotel Sandy Beach to the north end, all lined with interesting buildings and viewpoints. There is mountain walking up to Chlomus the mountain which separates the east side from the west side of the island.The local Captain Kostas runs trips to the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos from St. George. Trips from Lefkimmi and Benitses go to more faraway places such as Athens, Albania and the Greek main land. Nearby is the traditional Greek village of Argirades which is located on the main north-south truck road of Corfu.There are bus routes available directly from St. George South twice a day and from the top main road they pass frequently every hour. Taxi services are also available from the resort. Having a car on the island makes sightseeing and visiting other activities and locations quicker and your time is more flexible. To get to St. George from Corfu Town Airport take the main road south. When you reach Messongi junction take the road inland over the hills to the west coast. You continue to go south heading for Lefkimmi and there is a right turn with a clearly visible signpost turning off down to St George South. Just before the turn off to St. George you pass a right hand turn to Lake Korissia nature reserve, do not take this turn off.This is a fabulous property within walking distance to all amenities and facilities.
