For added convenience, the property can provide towels and bed linen for an extra charge.
There are two full sets of linen in a private cupboard for owners’ use, but for rental customers we use a local third party supplier for linen and concierge who is wonderful and would be delighted to continue with the current arrangement. She speaks French, Italian and English.
There is off-street parking for the apartment block and we’re located 150m from the nearest ski lift.
Ski storage space is available on site.
Alpe d’Huez is 21.1 miles from the apartment. The nearest airport is Alpes–Isère Airport, 67.7 miles from Alpine Hideout.
Rentals are in place for ski season.
The town was designed to be easy to access, so pretty much all of the accommodation is within a few minutes’ walk of the lifts. And unlike other apartment-heavy French resorts, there are plenty of great-value half-board hotels here, so mealtimes are a breeze. It’s also known for its après scene – stop at the bottom of the slopes for drinks and dancing at Umbrella Bar, or spend the night partying to live music in Smithy’s or chilling out by the fire in The Polar Bear Pub.
You can also swap your skis for wheels on an e-mountain biking adventure or try sliding down the slopes in an inflatable ring to fly through the air and land on a giant airbag. Got little ones? Set off for a horse-drawn sleigh ride or let them take the wheel on kid-sized snowmobiles or bumper cars on ice.

Les 2 Alpes is a ski resort in the French department of Isère, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The village sits at 1,650 m and lifts run to 3,600 m. It has the largest skiable glacier in Europe and is France’s second oldest ski resort behind Chamonix.
Les Deux Alpes is a high-altitude resort in France that lays claim to a number of records, including the largest skiable glacier in Europe, as well as the longest fully on-piste vertical available in the world – 2200m.
Beyond these achievements, it’s snowsure reputation and impressive off piste terrain make it a firm favourite for British visitors. The resort boasts 200km of on piste terrain, beginners are well catered for, expert skiers can head over to La Grave and the resort is also home to one of the best snowparks in Europe.
The long-rumoured link to Alpe d’Huez appears to finally be coming to fruition and by 2022, the two should be linked by a huge 3S gondola. Numerous other upgrades are expected between now and then with more than €500 million due to be spent on facilities, including two major new chairlifts and a massive upgrade to the Jandri Express.
There is a vast range of accommodation available in the village that stretches for almost 2km along a wide, sunny valley. Off the slopes there is a huge amount to do, including on the après front – this is it is one of the liveliest resorts in France.
