Catalan (official), French, Castilian, Portuguese. Catalan is a modern Romance language, closely related to Occitan (the language spoken in southern France). It uses acute and grave accents (as in é and è), dieresis (as in ï), a mid dot to separate two l, the "ela geminada" l·l, and the "ce trencada" ç.

The Andorran People

"Bon dia" or "bona tarda", "com esta" (good morning, or good afternoon, how do you do?in Catalan). Spanish (Castilian) is also widely used in Andorra and everyone understands and speaks it, as well as French. Andorrans greet the Spanish way: women hug and give a kiss on every cheek when greeting other women and men. Men never kiss, except in case of close relatives.
