Intrawest wins at overseas property awards

Property developer Intrawest has won the Best French Apartment award at the annual Homes Overseas Awards for its Arc 1950 village development.

The developer’s first property development in France, the ski-focused village also walked away with the title of Best Ski Development.

Arc 1950 Le Village was first launched in 2003, with eight phases sold to date, including the most recent Chalet des Lys.

The judges, including members of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, praised the development for its promising concept, whereby second homeowners could enjoy being close to an “authentic” French community.

They also highlighted the respect demonstrated for the local Savoie architectural traditions and singled out the first phase, Le Hameau du Glacier, as particularly stylish.

Receiving the award, vice president of Playground Real Estate sales, David Branch, said: “These prestigious awards mark a superb conclusion to Arc 1950’s success story. I dedicate them to our loyal European customer base.”

The awards, which took place at the Dorchester Hotel earlier this month, are organised by the UK’s Homes Overseas Magazine.
