Wealthy Indian’s are taking advantage of low property prices and weakened sterling to snap up some of the UK’s most desirable properties.

Nick Marr CEO of one of the UK’s busiest overseas property portals Homesgofast.com said “We are increasingly seeing wealthy Indian’s investing in UK property. They want the best British properties; it is a question of making hay whilst the sun shines. Low property prices and a weaker pound is turbo charging demand. It is not just a question of investment; Indian people are enjoying the experience of living in Britain’s finest homes too.”

One such home that has excited Indian Property finders is The Old Bakehouse on the River Dart which ticks all the right boxes. It is well recognised as being a landmark property, previously featuring on the front cover of a South Devon Tourist Guide, appearing in a number of books and the subject of numerous works of art. The Totnes Times said “The Old Bakehouse is considered to be one of the most spectacular properties in the region”. It has been described as “Iconic” and “Historic”, The Western Morning News said “Nothing can prepare you for the stunning attention to interior detail”, The Independent said “This one’s got it all” and Country Life and Justin King CEO of Sainsbury’s described it as “Fantastic”. Britain’s biggest selling weekly magazine The Week recently featured it as one of the eight best properties on the market in areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

It is situated in the tiny village of Tuckenhay in the highly desirable South Hams region of Devon, which is described by the tourist board as “particularly picturesque” and is considered to be one of Devon’s Best Kept Secrets. John Risdon Author of the book The River Dart says “as you round the corner, look out for the picturesque Old Bakehouse on your left”. To the front it is the most picturesque British cottage, but to the rear it is a nautical heaven directly bordering the River Dart.

Living in the magnificent six bedroom house offers a unique luxury experience; the home offers the very best in luxury living whilst providing the character and charm of a historic building. The peace and tranquillity and the incredible connection to the natural world provide a home that literally touches your senses and lifts your spirits. It is definitely a home for the most discerning looking for the best of British.
