Cyprus to Host 2012 European Shooting Games

Cyprus will host the 2012 European Shooting Championships for the Shotgun, according the European Shooting Confederation. The decision came from the recent General Assembly of the European Shooting Confederation, held in Osijek, Croatia.
At the meeting, several other sites were also awarded. Bologna, Italy will host the 50m, 25m and Running Target for Juniors and Vierumake, Finland will host the 10m Rifle, Pistol and Running Target, both in 2012. In 2013, Aarhus, Denmark wil host the 10m Rifle, Pistol and Running Target championship.
 For the shotgun championships, Cyprus had to compete with France and Finland. Cyrprus has hosted shooting events for the European Shooting Confederation in 2004 and 2008, leading to the successful bid for 2012.
