Foreign buyers are snapping up property bargains in Spain in larger numbers than for some months, according to the Spanish arm of one of the UKââ¬â¢s most well-known house builders.
Taylor Wimpey España, the Spanish arm of the UK house builder Taylor Wimpey Plc, have reported strong sales in September and October 2011. They also report lots of overseas interest as property prices in the country continue to offer excellent value.
UK enquiries for Taylor Wimpey property in Spain rise 45% in a year
According to their latest figures, Taylor Wimpey España's property sales rose by 15 per cent in September across Spain while UK enquiries alone increased by 45.5 per cent compared to September 2010.
The figures also show that Brits are the biggest buyers of Spanish property accounting for three in ten of all sales.
Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España, said: ââ¬ÅSeptember was a great month for us and October has been following in the same footsteps with positive sales in the first 15 days as well as Costa del Sol enquiries rising dramatically over the last 2 weeks.ââ¬Â
Prices of property in Spain fall again in September
Property in Spain continues to offer excellent value with the General IMIE index of Spanish house prices published by TINSA saw once again seeing prices decline in September.
According to the figures, average house prices in Spain are now 7.4 per cent lower than they were a year ago. Properties on the Mediterranean cost are worth an average of 8.2 per cent less than they were in September 2010.
The TINSA figures showed that since the Spanish property market's peak was in December 2007, and that values have fallen by an average of 24.1 per cent since then
