Free housing fair organised in San Jose next weekend

A housing fair has been organised in the San Jose area of California next weekend.

The event is due to take place next Saturday between 10:00 and 17:00 local time at the National Hispanic University, Mercury News has reported.

A number of different groups will be targeted at the fair, including first-time home buyers, real estate investors, as well as those interested in consumer protection issues.

Such matters as fraud detection and the action to take when real estate transactions go wrong will be addressed.

A number of topics will also be covered in seminars, including getting a mortgage, first-time buyer loan programmes, down payment assistance programmes and how to identify the most potentially lucrative property investment markets.

Michael Mendoza, one of the organisers of the fair, said: "We really wanted to make this an educational thing for the consumer."
