The apartment was sold at auction; after the pair had owned the 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment for 20 years. The apartment was purchased well before Hugh had reached the height of his fame. The apartment sold for $740,000, with a tenant in place until mid 2016.
Cate Blanchett and her husband Andrew Upton have sold their Hunter’s Hills property, in less than 3 weeks, after being listed. The historic landmark mansion, Bulwarra, is thought to have sold for over $20 million, after Cate and Andrew purchased it 10 years ago for $10 million from merchant banker Jim Dominguez and his wife Suzanne. But it didn’t stop there. A lengthy 3 year renovation program that followed, for an estimated $8 million. The renovation doubled the floor space and a self-contained apartment under the swimming pool was added. If the $20 million resale price is true, then this is 60% higher than the highest previous sales result in Hunters Hill, ($12.85 million) for the non-waterfront mansion.
