Chris Tarrant and his divorcing wife Ingrid have been revealed as shrewd property investors with enormous wealth. The property portfolio they have between them would be the dreams of any winner of Chris Tarrants hit TV show ‘ Who wants to Be a Millionaire’ The couple split last year over his seven-year affair with teacher Fiona McKechnie and are trying to reach a financial settlement.

Christopher John Tarrant, OBE born in 1946, is an English radio broadcaster and television presenter, now best known for hosting the TV game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? The popular game show offers a cash prize of one million pounds for correctly answering successive multiple-choice questions of increasing difficulty. The show was exported to many other countries, all of which follow the same general format

The McCartney divorce was perceived as a messy public affair and this divorce seems to be running along the same lines. According to reports from the Daily Mirror Chris Tarrant's wife Ingrid a Norwegian mother of 4 claims he is hiding £15million of his cash - to give her a smaller divorce payout. His wife now lives with son Toby, 15, at a 2 million pound mansion in Bucklebury, Berks, UK

The bitter row has given the public an insight into the TV stars wealth much of which appears to come from shrewd property investments. The star says he has £20million and has offered half. But bitter Ingrid, 51, believes the real figure is £35million and is now demanding a whopping two-thirds - nearly £24million

Chris Tarrant has invested in overseas property with homes in the UK and France worth around £12million, some of which are up for sale to fund a settlement. Last year saw him add £3.2million Hatchford Hall in Cobham, Surrey, to his property portfolio.
