Beckingham Palace to go on the market?

09/09/2010 After carving a successful career in Los Angeles, it appears that David and Victoria Beckham are set to settle down in America for good. Recent reports indicate that their £18million estate in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire has been valued by estate agents and is shortly to go on the market.
Multiple houses
In addition to the 24 acre estate, the Beckhams own an £11 million home in Beverley Hills, a chateau in France and a luxury apartment in Dubai. It is understood that the couple’s advisors have suggested selling their English home to save a significant amount on expenses and running costs. The number of staff at the Hertfordshire estate has been scaled back over recent months as the family has spent less and less time at the property.
The newlyweds paid £2.5 million for the house back in 1999 but have since spent an eight figure sum on refurbishments and improvements. It now features a recording studio, indoor swimming pool, snooker room, a gym and a petting zoo as well as a marble floored garden pavilion. It is now estimated to be worth as much as £18 million.
Settled in the USA
With Victoria Beckham’s career as a fashion designer taking off and David having three years left on his £12 million contract with LA Galaxy the couple and their three childrenBrooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5, are settled on the West Coast.
With celebrity friends including Gordon Ramsey, Eva Longoria, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, the Beckhams move to America has been a success. It is understood that the couple will buy a more modest property in central London for their use when visiting the UK in future.
A spokeswoman for the Beckhams said, “I can confirm David and Victoria have had their UK home valued.”
