Emirates Brings Airbus A380 to London Route

Emirates Airline is putting one of its new Airbus A380 airliners on the Dubai-Heathrow flight. Flight EK001, which departs Dubai daily at 0745 local time and arrives at Heathrow at 1135 hrs, will be served by the double-decker airliner, the largest ever built. The return flight for the plane will leave Heathrow daily at 1345 hrs and arrive at 0030 the next day.

Tim Clark, President, Emirates Airline, said: “We are delighted to bring our customers state-of-the-art comforts which are unmatched anywhere else in the world. Despite today's challenging economic environment, they have responded by booking every seat on our inbound and outbound flights.”

Emirates will operate its A380 with 489 seats, which is an increase of 40% over the current Boeing 777 that is being used now for the flight. The upper deck of the plane is for Premium Class passengers, which includes First and Business Class. There are two onboard shower spas and the Onboard Lounge, located at the rear of the upper deck, for these passengers.

Emirates Airlines operates 98 direct flights each week to and from the UK, with daily trips to and from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham and Glasgow.
