About Hurghada

The city of Hurghada, Egypt is one of the Red Sea’s most popular resorts and destinations. It has a bustling holiday life year round and has become known internationally as a destination for water sports activities. It is also the center of activity for other Red Sea resort developments, with many new and developed neighboring resorts. In the town itself, there are plenty of newly constructed hotels, apartments and attractions, plus an increasing number of properties that are under construction or planned for this popular Egyptian resort.

The village of Hurghada was founded early in the 20th century, but it was towards the end of it that it really became a popular resort location. The climate here is ideal for vacationers looking for a relaxing retreat in the sun year round. Winter daytime temperatures are typically between 20º – 25ºC, while summer temperatures average in the 30s. The water is always warm and enjoyable, with winter temps into the low 20s and higher in the summer.

Red Sea A Great Location

 

The popularity of the region as a diving destination led to the construction of the Marsa Alam International Airport 65km north of the town itself. Construction is currently underway on an extension to this terminal in order to handle the increased tourist inflow into the now easily accessible area. With direct flights from London and many other European destinations now available, the area is seeing an explosion in tourism growth and development to cater for these tourists.
