Golfing in Portugal does not get better than this

The impressive 18-hole Championship Golf course stretches along the length of the resort shaping the housing centres, the Hotel & SPA and the other leisure facilities.

It is a PAR 72 golf course with an area exceeding 600 thousand sqm; the first nine holes are played on a level part of the terrain while the second nine are located on uneven terrain, and are therefore quite spectacular.

Simultaneously, BOM SUCESSO has signed a number of Reciprocity agreements between the BOM SUCESSO golf course and other Portuguese golf clubs, spread across the country.

Reciprocity agreements are signed with several Golf Courses such as, Campo de Golfe do Montado, Tróia Golf Championship Course, Le Meridien Penina Golf & Resort, Penha Longa Hotel & Golf Resort, Quinta das Lágrimas – Academia de Golfe, Campo de Golfe da Aroeira, Campo Real Golfe & Natureza, Quinta do Perú Golf Course, Oitavos Golfe, Golfe da Quinta do Fojo and Campo de Golfe de Vale De Milho.

Former President of the British Association of Golf Course Architects (1986-89), Donald Steel recently received the singular honour of being elected President of the English Golf Union.

With a remarkable portfolio, in 2003 was named as the 4th most influential golf course architect in the world by Golf Magazine

"Bom Sucesso is a superb layout, which follows the tenets of good

golf design. Being a ‘resort’ course, there are places where tees are near resort roads, but in all cases tees are set down or raised up to avoid any interference from passing traffic, which will always be minimal in the playing areas. Where houses line the fairways, most holes run through dished valleys, with the houses set well back and above the play, a massive amount of tree planting, adds to the safety barriers as well as to the beauty of the course. Greens are especially well located and where greens are near roads they are set in positions surrounded by banks and trees, which will contain wild shots".

Properties at Bom Sucesso

The modem contemporary styles properties at Bom Sucesso fit into the golf course with ease making a truly unique golfing environment.

The sites for the villas and townhouses were dispersed over the countryside, along the length of the huge green expanse that constitutes the golf course and the various buildings. In order to veil the houses, in harmony with the surroundings, the use of greenery was made compulsory. Moreover, 90 % of the houses have just one floor.

The final outcome was a land use density of 7,2%, and a construction area of just 6,5% of the total area.
